CW Pileup Competition Practice

As W9WI, a Pileup Competition winner many times over, suggests in his "Tips and Tricks" letter, it is a good idea to practice for the contest using files from previous years.

The club makes CDs containing recent files available for a small donation at the Hospitality Suite each year. However, the files on this page are provided at no charge for your practicing or listening enjoyment.

These are the actual contest files used in 1998 and 1999, and are provided as both .zip files and .wav files. The answer sheets are in Microsoft Word .doc format.

Each file is approximately 5 minutes long and contains about 100 calls. Copy as many calls as possible, listing them in columns down your page. After the test, you should use the answer sheet for the appropriate year to see how many calls you copied correctly. The correct calls on the answer sheet are listed in order, reading down each column.

Be patient downloading - the files are fairly large (3-5 MB.)

Have Fun and Good Luck!
